Israel has lost their mind, in my opinion.
My prayers are with your family, and Lebanon.

The situation is quickly getting out of control. The whole world but the US (of course) has already said that Israel is reacting way out of proportion to the kidnapping of the two soldiers. Israel was hoping that they could push Lebanon into fighting Hezbollah, the civil war you are talking about. But I doubt it will happen. If Lebanon could have taken Hezbollah, they would have already. Also, whatever anger was directed at Hezbollah initially for having started this has now been lost in the destruction and injuries Israel has caused Lebanon in three days. They have savagely destroyed all that they could in infrastructure. So, maybe not a civil war in Lebanon, but a full scale war between Israel and a couple of other countries may be in the works.

I can sort of see a question in there. No, it is much more than the 2 prisioners. I am confident, however, that if Lebanon destroyed Hazballa on its own, Israel would offer support to Lebanon.

Not "just." They want the soldiers back also.
(Were the incursions, killings, and kidnappings of Israeli soldiers likewise done to precipitate a miliatry response that would justify rockets into Israel?) I expect some people in govt on both sides feel relieved to have the opportunity to blow things up in the other country.

No:
Lebanon gave S. Lebanon over to Hisbullah. They abdicated all authority there, and Hisbullah is a surrogate for Syria and Iran. If two Americans were kidnapped in L.A. and Cal. was rocketed by Syrian/Iran sponsored terrorists, we would nuke them.

I'm not trying to be cheeky, but really...
was 9/11 just some excuse we made up to attack the Taliban?
it is more than the two missing soldiers. how about the rockets landing in Israeli cities? how about the border breach to the south? it's amazing how Israel is always expected to suck it up.

I admire them for going after the cowards that kidnapped two on duty soldiers. I don't support Israel but at least they are not putting their troops on trial for killing civilians in war time. The two groups of arabs have been fighting for centuries and will fight until the end of time. Let them go at it. LOL
