I am not a liberal, in fact in my political choices i am a republican, but I also can not think of a single GOOD thing Bush has done for this country. Don't get me wrong I do not HATE Bush, I don't sit around and blame everything bad in our country on him. I just want to know what it is other people see as being positive that has happened in the US during his term.
Oh, and good things only please, I'm not looking for smart remarks from liberals about oil and all that stuff.

I'm a liberal, but I see nothing wrong in listing a few of the great things Mr. Bush has done:

1.) He handled 9-11 spectacularly. Immediately, Bush had people investigating who caused it and how to get back at them. I think that's a good character trait for a leader: being able to point subordinates in the correct direction.

2.) He had a successful campaign in Afghanistan. No kidding! Everyone complains about the war in Iraq, but I haven't heard anything about Afghanistan and the direction it took after the Taliban. No news is good news!

3.) I hate to make this point, but if I'm not mistaken, our economy has gotten a bit better during his terms. If not, it isn't as much in the news anymore, so... uh... the public is less worried about it! Now there's an achievement!

The Bush Tax cuts have turned out to be the right medicine at the right time. The economy did not go into a depression after 9/11 as many people thought it would. Instead the economy is booming.

The Bush approach to terrorism has worked and we have not had a repeat of 9/11. Take the Bush strategy in Iraq for instance. Iraq is a giant Roach Hotel for terrorists. Rather than have them come here and blow up buildings, we have lured them into Iraq and are systematically exterminating them. They check in but they never check out. The terrorists were very stupid for engaging us on our terms.

The Iraq war will undoubtedly go down in history as the most successful military operation that the US has ever engaged. The kill ratio in Iraq is incredibly high and the casualties sustained by US forces are the lowest of any major military operation in the history of warfare. Of course, most people do not realize this because the media is covering the war as though we are losing it.

Politically, Bush has been very effective. The Republican majority in both houses of Congress has steadily increased during his terms as president. He also has successfully added Conservative Justices to the Supreme Court. History will record that the affects of "Creeping Socialism" were reversed on his watch.

It is precisely that President Bush has been so successful that you see such hateful remarks by his opponents and such an effort to spread disinformation by their friends in the news media.

He is working to form an alliance of nations that think like we do - i.e. in favor of freedom rather than tyranny - and working to remove the USA from the UN - which has become a farce, run and controlled by 3rd world anti-American, anti-freedom factions. If he succeeds in this venture, he's liable to save the American taxpayer something to the tune of 7 billion a year in money used to support the UN and its 3rd world bean heads, and form a better alliance with nations that are actually our allies and not those that just give lip service to being our allies (like France, for instance).

I'd call that a major plus for Bush that the media is not reporting.

President Bush has not waivered in public disapproval. He stands for what he thinks is right for the country (which, I believe, is why we voted him in for 2 terms), and doesn't let what liberals say effect him.

He, in the wake of 9-11, stood steadfast. He didn't let the terrorists see the pain the Americans were in. He handled 9-11 amazingly. No one can doubt that.

Nor can they doubt the fact that the economy has been booming. Even in the wake of 2 wars, the economy has been growing.

He tried to get the Capital Gains Tax done away with........but, the liberals and/or Communists, who want to take people's tax deferred retirement saving at 30-50% (Capital Gains Tax now @ 25%)........Well need I say more. Leave you with that thought! There are more. BUT, I not trust any of those self-interest craps! Liberal/Republican etc.

he has shown that a president doesn't have to be as smart as we think they do to be in office. Bush has been made fun of through-out his term(s) and the one thing i can say about him is he will go down in history. as what the books will say I don't know, but believe me it will be good reading and also for any of the books written about him once he leaves office those who write the books will cash in.

1. Tax cuts (no, I am NOT rich...but they sure helped my family)
2. His no b.s. stance on terrorism. (remember Clinton's response to the first WTC bombing and the Cole and embassy bombings??? Non existent.)
3. He IS a man of integrity.
4. I could go on, but I'll leave it with this...he has the best First Lady at his side of all time (Barbara Bush is a dang close 2nd)!

I disdain President Bush.

But I did think that he put out a pretty effective public image immediately after September 11th. It sort of appealed to his cowboy nature. And that's me wracking my brain TRYING to be true to your question and come up with something legitimately positive. I almost posted a smart-@$$ comment about his good-looking daughters being his sole contribution to America.

He overcame his alcoholism, which can be tough, but the country would be better off if he had stayed on the ranch and drank. And I guess he doesn't cheat on his wife.

People think he's a good person because he brags about how religious he is.
