I don't go as far back as some with the sport, but there are a few I can list who are familiar to me. Right now I miss Rusty Wallace. Then Daryl Waltrip was a hoot even when he was loosing at the end of his career. But I will miss Mark Martin the most when he retires next year. He's the gutsiest, most consistent driver in NASCAR. Ask my wife, she goes further back than I do.

There aren't a lot of retired drivers that would be competitive on the race track. I do wish that Terry Labonte could find a ride with a team that will get him good equipment. Hendrick Motorsports used him the past few years to help Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. He is better than the team's results had shown.

I'd love to see a 10 or 20 lap shootout at Richmond between Richard Petty, David Pearson, Darrell Waltrip, Bobby Allison, and Harry Gant. Throw Rusty Wallace in there too, but make him start last.

I would have to say Bill Elliot, Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough.

If you said all-time, as in including deceased drivers, You would have to throw Davey Allison in there.
