While I had not problem with the actor, I did not like the story line as much. I mean I can see him going back, we all know that they slept together, so I will even buy the kid, but what really gets me is that it was more of a love story and less of superman that we know. There was less destruction, and using of his powers, it was more about fluffy human interest.

I thought the resemblance to the originals was fantastic, and a real " hats off " to them. Also it seemed like a good way to start a new era of Superman movies, kind of a bridge to keep Reeve fans from feeling he was easily replaced.
I do agree that some of the story line was a little far stretched, like using Luthor as a villain, again, and the fact the Lex only wanted to own more land. Kinda lame. I do realize that the producers were trying to keep both the Superman geeks, and the possible new followers happy.
Overall, I feel that if you watch the movie and understand the homage it was giving the earlier films, and the gap it was bridging between now and the future movies, it was a great film.

C.R. might have been a great Superman, but we have to realize that he cant come back and do another movie for us(for evident reasons). As far as the way Brandon R. acted, i was really pleased and no matter what other people might say, i think he was the best candidate for this new movie (lets face it, not even Tom Welling could have matched him).
As far as the production and basic story line, i thought it was really creative and way off the previous versions( something that can be good sometimes).
You have to take it as what it is, a sci-fi classic movie and it would be a shame to stop the production of new versions just because the actor that we once came to love as Superman is no longer with us. We have to move on and so does The Man of Steel.
Despite what i've heard most pepople think, to me Brandon R. did a graet Superman and i would be happy to go see another movie with him as a main character.

Hmm, Jojo is right, there will never be another actor such as the great Christopher Reeve (God rest his soul), who is worthy of playing Superman again. It just won't have the same effect. But in regards to your question, I haven't actually seen the new Superman film yet.

I liked the movie. I was not a fan of Christopher Reeve (God rest his soul) as an actor, and thank goodness an attractive actress was cast as Lois Lane this time. Kevin Spacey was delightful as Superman's arch rival. I liked the special effects and his style of flying.

I went to see te movie with really low standards but came out saying it was a lot better than I thought.
I thought the ending fell short. But there was certainly enough action and I loved Kevin Spacey in it.

It wasn't a remake. It was tied into the first two, and the last two were completely thrown out.
