Not quite. It's a kind of mulish "positive thinking" combined with a naive lack of understanding about manipulation and deceit.

A bull in a China shop rather than an arrogant dictator. Jack Paar rather than Mike Wallace. James Stewart rather than Edward G. Robinson. Ronald Reagan rather than Richard Nixon. John Kennedy rather than Lyndon Johnson -- in fact-- Charles deGaulle once remarked that Kennedy represents the face America shows to the world, but Johnson is an example of what America is really like.

Let me say this about that. Arrogance without naive charm is unAmerican. I kid you not.
