what kind of clothes should be worn at a recyling plant?

I'd say probably steel toe boots and some sort of overalls or coveralls. Also leather workgloves and possibly safety goggles and a hardhat depending on what you're doing.

Lightweight coveralls. That is of course you are not in the administration portion of the business. If in doubt, ask the boss.
