What is the REAL satisfaction as opposed to what. Work is an anxiety reliever, the diminishing pain experienced as pleasure. When things go according to our objective conception for it, that satisfies our essential perfectionistic nature, ego. If we do not perform so well, then we labour more to answer for ourself how it is we fail to meet those ojectives, blaming other things or people when possible. The most satisfying work experience is when you KNOW you have done the best, experiencing the conditions of the moment for what they are.

On the other hand, don't under estimate the ability of some people to make you feel like a worthless piece of ****. Skills aimed at protecting yourself against this predatorial attack is essential to competitive labour and sexual markets. Be an intrinsically right person, honest and self healing. BE caring for others, but know when to give 'em hell and how.

Dang!!!!!! Well ........ maybe if you work with some Cool and Fun people. Other than that! All we have to look forward too is a Retirement....... which will mainly be Funded by a 401K or something similar. AND.....Since the Money we invested into it at a TAX Deferment................will be TAXed at probably 30-50% (Capital Gains) when we Retire!!!! Oh, My, how much more Satisfaction do we need! BUT, the real satisfaction......is knowing that our Tax Dollars helped someone who never worked, pay their bills, rent their home and Retire with better benefits than us! ;-D

I had a great job I loved for 20 years, and always knew I was the luckiest person in the world (well almost anyway). I tried to cherish those days (good times) as I knew they would come to an end someday, which of course they did.

To me work gives you a sense of self-worth, that you are contributing to society in a positive way. There are so many lazy people out there who expect someone else to take care of them. Oddly enough, right now I am unemployed.

I love my job, and sometimes the people I care for are so pitiful. It makes my day to know I did something to help them feel better or gave them 1 more pain free day in this cruel world when there was nothing else they could do for themselves. I was there to save the day. It is part of my job. I nurse.
I recently had some really big heart problems and had to see a specialist. He so changed my life when he fixed my heart. I feel so indebted to him for his increadible knowlege and the ability to use that knowlege on me. I am so glad he took the time to fix my heart problem. I had been messed up for 20 years until I consulted with him. To him, it was just another day on the job. To me it was a miracle. I wonder if he got up dreading to go to work that morning. I am glad he showed up. He cured me.
I suppose it depends on what kind of work you do. Believe me when I say someone appreciates it.

1. Knowing you are "pulling your own weight" not being a leech
on society
2. A job well done
3. Saving money for future security
4. Being productive, adding something to society
5. Self Respect

It is important to have a job you are fitted for and enjoy...or you will be miserable, in spite of the benefits listed.
