There you may reduce the bytes like cutting lengths of your photo, reducing the colors. You can experiment with it, but always use SaveAs, so you can always come back to the original...

If you mean the file size, the most direct way is to change the level of compression. If the image file isn't already a jpeg, you can use a utility like Irfan View to convert it. Irfan View can be found free on the web; just do a search. If the file is already a jpeg, you can find various utilities that will allow you to increase the compression. This will cause the quality of the picture to degrade, but you can make it small enough to fit your needs that way.

Resize (make it smaller) it. Sometimes you can change the compression (as with .jpg files) when you save it.
You could also try to use different format which could have better compression for your photos.
Kilobyte is a unit of size of file (or photo file).
It would be useful if you gave more details - what exactly are you trying to do.
