i want to do something with them besides put pillows in em .

A window valance ( I think that is how you spell it ?!) It is the same idea as the answer above, but it involves sewing. Fold over about 2-3 inches (depending on the curtain rod) sew and hang.

If you have wooden chairs...you can use them slid over the backs of them ,or use them for chair cushions on the "seat" part.You could also open them up and use them for a dresser scarf,or use them with a packet of dried lavender,(or another nice scent),and store your winter clothing ,or summer clothing in.

You can cut it up and make a patch work quilt or if your a seamstress, make a shorts and top out fit for a child or grandchild!!

Make toppers for your windows. I saw this done on "This Old House" once they tied them on with ribbon on each end. Was really cute. No sewing involved.
