By fragility, you may be looking to determine a variety of attributes(torsional strength, hardness, tensile strength, compressive strength). For each there is a corresponding test and a variety of instruments that can be used.

tensile strength: axial stretch loading
torsional strength: twisting loading
compression strength: crush loading
hardness: resistance to localized plastic deformation

There is no such instrument but you can use the same scale that geologists use to determine hardness: The Mohs Scale.

The scale is 1-10, 1 being the softest and 10 being the hardest. It is determined by what the rock can scratch:
A fingernail=2.5=Gypsum
A Penny=Just under 3=Calcite
Glass=5.5=Apatite
A good Steel file=6.5=Quartz

You can also determine hardness by getting the following stones:
1. Talc
2. Gypsum
3. Calcite
4. Fluorite
5. Apatite
6. Feldspar
7. Quartz
8. Topaz
9. Corundum
10. Diamond

You test your stone against those listed above. Whichever one scratches the other is harder, and if both scratch each other they are both the same hardness.

What is "urinary" stone?
