I'm going with a girlfriend to Pittsburg to a Nickelback & Bon Jovi concert next week. We live in VA, and we already have our hotel room, etc. But I've never been to an event so big (it's at Heinz Field) and I was wondering how early to be there, what you can/cannot take (cameras, drinks), and so on.

camera. pic phone preferable. and of course lots of oxygen, good lungs and well tuned vocal chords so u can really scream(fan shout) and enjoy the rockn performance.

you really won't be able to take anything
in with you like cameras or drinks
unless otherwise specified,
maybe find out from the Heinz Field website.

a blanket or chairs if it's general seating, open field

if you can take drinks, do so
otherwise you'll pay way too much

and yes, some tennis shoes is a must
if you don't have seats.

try to use the restroom and get a drink
just before going to get your spot.
if you have an assigned seat
it's not as bad if you have to go during the show
but if it's general seating and you move
it's a nightmare trying to get a good spot again.

it's great to be close, but not too close
to the speakers

and you'll get searched, not too intrusively
but something like a bag of weed would probably get found

have fun you guys!!

Take plenty of spending money...everything costs more at a concert. A lot of times they won't let you bring in cameras, and drinks are usually not allowed either. You'll want to get there a little early...a good half hour at least. This will give you time to find your seats, the restroom, and refreshments. You really don't need to take too much, but don't forget your tickets.

I wouldn't take much more than a cellphone and a camera, things get stolen, lost, ect. The concert isn't going to be an all day thing, so leave unnecessities at your Hotel room!

I take some gum/tic tac/candy. Your voice can get sore/raw from singing/screaming your favorite tunes. Do not take much for some venues do a pocket/handbag search and will remove questionable items. Before you enter concert be sure to be aware/remember where you parked. Not finding the car for some time after show is a bummer. Take bottled water-leave in car for after show.

Take a bag cause you'll buy alot of stuff and it gets annoying to carry which brings me to the next thing you'll need: money

Comfortable shoes, for sure but make sure they're strong so you can kick some ***, if someone is in your way.
