Why can't Israel just claim the land promised to them in the bible?

Anna: The bible is the Word of God. God keeps His Word. It rarely mentions religion. Perfect religion before God is helping the widows, orphans,... & keeping self from sinful living.

No kidding! They're trying so hard to "get along" with everyone, but the Muslims in the surrounding countries sure aren't interested in getting along with them!

Because it is not their land. The bible is a revered holy book but it is not a law.Muslims don't believe in the bible so they do not obey by its rules. Gaza and the west bank were supposed to have been a palestinian republic but Israel got greedy and annexed them. And Jujubee, Israel making an effort to help their neighbors? You've got to be kidding me. Annexing a country is an effort to make peace? Bombing an airport filled with civilians? Don't talk unless you have your facts straight. The truth is, most of you have bias due to your religion and nationalities. This is truly why you take sides.

i was about to make the question a bit different, i was gonna ask why the **ck are they getting there... way paranoid!!! and way off limits... i wanna know WHY are they being so cruel..

... what make you think that a promised land is more important than the ten basic rules GOD gave to humanity... all the problems begin with lack of tolerance and respect... if north americans were not playing the role of IN CHARGE of world affairs, maybe it wouldn't be so out of hand...
the country i live in was taken by north americans in 1916, time in which they treated locals just as you see happening today in mideast jails and guantanamo..
later as if it was not enough, north americans came just as we reached freedom by murdering a dictator that had over 30 years in charge... they came after it, not when WE needed them, protecting interests by placing one of the survivors of that horrible era.

what i meant is that the bible was written long ago... and it cannot be only for jews... therefor other religions can base their faith in it... people have spread all over the world,
that Israel has been stubborn, it is a country with a short and very problematic history, with an awful amount of technology and weapons, and the back up of THE most powerful president of whom people outside of USA dont quite believe that have good intentions but to take and care only for what do good to him and his people... no balance what so ever!!!

Political pressure from a muslim dominated, and liberally dominated USA, and the liberal dominated world media pressured the UN resolutions that guaranteed Israel that the militias would be disarmed. Another example that the UN is dominated by the intelligensia. Another failed UN policy.

the only way to stop the problems between Israel and Palestinians is to get rid of poverty and have these places patroled by the U.N.
