I do not like it.It is as much the fault of the male as the female. With all the birth control available to day to teens there is no excuse to be pregnant. It just lust & lazyness. Think of the child. .They deserve a two person family, a mom & dad at home.I grew up with just a mom. I never saw my dad. Mom was15 when I was born. It was not fun.

After having 2 children and adopting 3 that no one wanted, I have to say, you really need to be mature enough to raise children. Anyone can have a baby, it takes an exceptional person to RAISE a child. The teenage years (and on into the 20's for that matter) are for exploring yourself as well as the world. How can a person really do that when they have to think of someone else first?
I have found in my work that a person will rebel and experience a second adolescence, even if they are 40 when they do it, when they miss the natural evolution of adolescence in their teens and 20's. Why wait to do it later? Wouldn't it be better to go ahead and make your mistakes without a child to share the consequences?
If a teen does accidentally get pregnant and doesn't have anyone in their family willing to raise the child, it would be a blessing all around to allow a couple unable to have children adopt the child.

Teenage pregnancy has several responses, A cpl that are together preferably married, or getting married, I see no problem, a girl 14 haveing sex with anyone and endeing up pregnant is sad and will be hard for both of them. I been with my husband sence age 16 now 38, have 3 kids all before his 21 birthday. we loved it, glad we had them early. and have no regrets. but like i say wihtout love and a solid reletionship with boyfriend and both families its realy hard but not impossibale.

I think it is a serious problem these days. There are efforts to control it, but there needs to be more effort to control sexual activity among teens. You don't solve a problem by treating side effect, you solve it by going after the cause. There are many ideas and answers about this, but it has, HAS, to start at home with the parents, and too few parents take an active role here.

I see a lot of negative answers. I think if it has already happened and she is pregnant she needs support. I think it is very important for teen parents to get their education to provide a good life. So if you are a teen thinking of becoming pregnant I would wait. It really isnt an easy job at any age. But if it has alreay happened good luck!

Teenagers are too young to get pregnant. They should wait to get pregnant while they have a whole life ahead of them. Having a baby is alot of responsibility. Teenager's years is a time to have fun and get mature.
I know there are alot of teenage pregnancy that are increasing thoughout the years, but i know some teenagers who wishes they waited to get pregnant. Most of the time they drop out of school to get full time jobs to support their baby. having a baby limits their social life.

ok i think teenage pregnancy should not happen in this day & age. i know everyone goes on about sex but there are loads of contreception available now. i think when a girl starts there monthlies she shud then get the injection to stop unwanted pregnancies. that shud only be stopped at a certain age. when they ARE old enough to make these kind of decisions for them selves.

I think that teens should wait to have sex in case they get pregnant. I know from experience. I got pregnant at 17. I had to grow up fast. I couldn't do things that my friends were doing. I would give her up for anything but, i wish i would have waited. I would never get an abortion but i wish i had a chance to be a teen.

Well it has decreased since the late 80's but it is still a problem... I had my daughter late I was told I could not conceive. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me and my hubby. She is a gift from God but I have my education and experience to support us..... The point I am trying to make is, it isn't easy being a new parent at 30, I can't imagine being one as a teen.
Do you need help?

Its pretty gross when you see 15 yr olds pregnant. I think by waiting till your married it will be an easier process. You have someone there for you, that support and security, compared to those who get pregnant, scared and leave their babies in cardboard boxes.
Teens need to be smarter about this!
