Yep!
My Grandmother used to have a couple that she heated on the old wood burning stove and kept changing them.

But seriously, cordless irons have been out for a good 20-25 years now. They are very popular. I had one some time ago, but don't have one anymore. Retired and don't have any dress shirts to iron any more. You might check for one at your local K-Mart or Sears stores. Can't cost more that $20/30.

Yes, several companies make cordless irons, including Panasonic and Maytag. As long as you remember to return them to the 'dock'for re-charging they are fine.

I hear you, you get a burn and you have also managed to tie yourself to the damn thing, you run away it clunks along behind you.

I am an ebayaholic, so I would start there. I would send you one of mine if I had one if you promised to visit just a tad more often.

My mother has one. It comes with a stand for heating it up. I do agree that the cords are major nuisances!

You should be able to find them in department stores such as Wal-Mart or Target.
