I just got an angle fish who's tail was bit off by another fish at my friends house. It's perfectly healthy beside the fact that it's missing it's tail. Will it's tail grow back? It's just the fin part of the tail, so it still has the stump. If it will grow back how long will it take? Thanks

Hi, I would suggest you put it in a separate (quarantine) tank for a while so that it grows its tail back. It will take a while to grow its tail back.
If you move the fish to the quarantine tank, make sure you use the same water as from the other tank.
Do a few water changes in the the quarantine tank like maybe a quarter tank per week, and feed the fish with a good protein diet so that it can heal itself better and faster. you might want to watch out for fungus growth in the compromised area of the fish's skin where the tail ends.

Apparently it can according to the end of this article ( http://www.chapelhillnews.com/pets/story/2871707p-9328242c.html ). I'm not sure when because I didn't read it but at least your fish will grow a new fin.

The tail should grow back as long as you have no fish that will continue to nip it off.
