According to a few websites I've found, it's the same in Arizona as it is in Georgia, at the age of 14. You were right to think it wasn't 18. Although one site I went to did state that a "minor child" can't choose. My suggestion is to call a friend in Arizona (if you have any) and ask them to help you find out. Unlike Georgia, Arizona doesn't have much online in the judicial area/family law area like other states do.

There is a site listed below, that states the child doesn't have to be any particular age, but have a desire to live with the other parent in another state. The judge ultimately decides, but the child can tell the court and they'll try to see if placement there is in the child's best interest. Go there and read all the questions....and good luck!

You,know you can find a Para legal in the Phone Book, and they can answer this for you and your mother. I,have known children that were 12 that knew who they wanted to live with and the courts went in their favor. 18,is an adult and your brother should be out on his own, anyways. Your father sounds like he still wants to control things. Or,you can go back to family court and have things changed. Good Luck California is a very expensive place to live. But the weather is really nice. Anyways have a wonderful Day!

It used to be 12 and I think they lowered it to 10 at the Judges discretion but definitely 12. 18 is an adult and child support ends unless in writing for college alimony...Been that kid and moved at 13 but I did have to talk to the Judge and it was up to him. Is it for the right reasons? Not things like I have more freedom to do what I want, Mom is way cooler... Good Luck:-)

I think it s 18yrs old in California.
The legal age in California (not for alcohol but for legal matters) is 18 so I'd think that's yr answer. Make sure you get it right by calling social services they will know or an attorney that wont cost you for a screening call.

at the age of 15 you have the right to choose which parent you want to live with of course you have to run it thru the courts but that is the correct age. i know this because i recently went thru a divorce and asked the judge here in Utah and he said at 15 our daughter has the right to choose where she wants to live

that quite is a difficult decision for a 12 12 months previous to make... It makes ideal experience that she ought to prefer to spend extra time with her mom, fantastically if she is feeling disregarded. ladies favor their mama's at this age... a lot starts happening and replacing and this is constructive to have the relax of your own mom. i imagine now can be a great time to allow her flow to her mom's. She ought to ascertain at 16 she needs to stay with her dad again, you in simple terms not in any respect recognize.
