Paid to surf sites are scams. The only people who benefit from those sites are the program owners.

Paid to read emails are a waste of time. It would take you months and in some cases years to cash out for a measly check of $10, $20 or $30 lousy dollars.

Sell items on eBay and free auction sites.
If you don't have items to sell join a dropship
company

Join ClickBank as an affiliate. Promote their services and programs to people who want them.

Get yourself a blog.
Post in it often and add Google Adsense.

Online surveys work like this. You take a survey, about half way through or at the end of the process, you find out that you didn't qualify, so you wait for another survey to come through. You start it, find out you don't qualify, so you wait for another survey. When you aren't getting enough surveys and didn't make any money, you go sign up with another survey sitep. And the cycle just repeats. The person behind the site makes money from the advertisers who pay a fee to have their surveys taken. I've done both, the pay ones and free ones. I guess I didn't fit into the group that they were looking for because I spent hours a day filling out forms and never got a dime. I did do traffic exchanges for about 6 months, advertising someone else's affiliate program and made $.85 for about 4 hours a day clicking 4 days a week and a dollar of someone else who bought into the affiliate program I was advertising. Considering I had to have $20.00 accrued before I could actually get a payout, I decided it was in my best interest to move on. People claim that you can make money doing these free things, a few even claim they are making money. I only know of one guy who actually said he made $250 doing surveys, but he had to sign at over 100 sites. There are a lot of promises and guarantees thrown out there, but from my experiences, I can tell you if I am going to give my time away, I think it would be better spent volunteering at some local business where at least I would feel some sort of satisfaction at the end of the day. I wrote a blog about advice for working from home. It's all generic and not a sales pitch. A link is in the 2nd paragraph of my profile here on answers. I would invite you to read it as it also explains how to do a search on these offerings that are being spammed. Always do your homework before you jump blindly into something. At least one of these offerings is illegal. Remember this also, it's not like they are really doing you a favor as they either earn points or a few pennies for getting someone else to sign up from their link. ~good luck ~jennifer Helping others earn income from home through education of the system.

Paid Surveys are a good place to start.
Like HappyKitty says, they do take some time to set up, and you have to be committed to spend a certain amount of time on it.
It is after all a kind of job, and needs to be taken seriously.

If you spend some time (Not a lot, but say, half an hour to an hour a day) and are consistent, you can make a decent income.

The link below has a list of the best ones. Yes, they do require a small fee to get you started, but you should get that back within a few days, and be making more.

After you get that income source flowing, you might consider branching out into internet marketing. It takes a lot longer to set up, but the income potential is almost infinite. Who knows, it might just become a career for you, and even if not, you will always have multiple sources of residual income to suppliment your salary.

So far, I don't! I have tried it once out of curiousity and paid I think 10 bucks for an "exclusive" list of sites that offered these "online jobs." I did get a list of sites but all that happened was I was caught up filling out sign up forms for hours and I never really got into doing my "job." Not to mention the spam! Don't do it... plus, if it is legit, considering the billions of people using the internet, that position is definitely filled.
