It depends on your definition of nice. There is nice as in a passive pushoover and no they don't get ahead. And then there is nice but still assertive and yes they do achieve because they can get what they want without hurting the other person. Well if the person is hurt it is their own choosing.

I dont think people who are really successful are very nice. All they care about is getting ahead of everyone else and couldnt give two sh*ts about the poor homeless guy down the street. I think nice people can see that there is more to life than money.
