It can be hard at times. But a few drinks always helps.

It is the shyness itself that has a grip...If the problem was something else, and all you had to do was talk to someone, then perhaps it could be dealt with. But with shyness, it's like a catch-22 situation. The only way to break out of it, is to be in circumstances that you HAVE to talk to other people, the more the better. The job that I work now has helped me a lot. I still have some bad days, but I'm much better off than I was. If you want to break out of it, you need to put yourself in situations where you have to talk to other people.

It's part of who you are. People are born with their personalities. I'm not saying you cannot change...just that you will probably always be somewhat 'shy'. You can work on your behaviors, habits, and thougths. If you have social anxiety you can try medication and/or therapy.
Don't worry. It takes all kinds. Not everyone loves the loud mouth who is the center of attention all the time.
Try to find a balance between who you are and how you think your personality is holding you back from things you want...don't change who you are but how you act and react to things.
Good luck!

because the way to break out of shyness is to take risks, but usually you're too shy to do that!
It's a circle!

I was a very shy person too. Still am in some ways. It takes time. Work on one thing at a time. Do something you don't normaly do. After a while you get used to doing it. So it isn't so bad.

Maybe it's hard because you continue to be around the same people! Move to a new city and start off fresh! Remember to speak about whatever is on your mind....straight from the heart..you know!

I know how you feel, I'm shy lots of times until I get to know people. I think it's easier to be shy sometimes and be alone because you know that nothing bad can happen. Some people don't like taking big risks like me which tends to keep me shy.

Not really...You have nothing to lose, so just experiment from time to time. Nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream bro...

It's not really. Just find a group of people you can get along with (or at least stand) and talk to them. You'll do just fine. :-)
