Do you have plans, or have you thought about making plans, for what to do in the event of a nuclear war, or at least a nuclear bomb going off? Do you have a shelter or do you know where you will use as a shelter? Have you discussed it with your family? Is there a specific plan in your community if you live in a high risk area?
I know the cold war is over and it's all far fetched, but I have often thought about what I would do and where I would go (besides probably dying), and I'm just wondering if any one else has considered their plans.

Bear in mind a nuclear attack doesn't always mean total anihilation and hopeless collapse of society. I live just outside London and I often wonder what I would do if terrorists attacked London with a nuclear bomb and my home was threatened with fallout.

Interesting.
Like most Americans, I do not, and will either die or suffer horribly if such an unforeseen and surreal attack should actually occur.
We are (just about ALL of us ) completely unprepared for a catastrophic and shocking terrorist detonation of even a single one-megaton device in or near any major U.S. city. No I am sorry to say you are not being "far fetched". This horror could actually occur, and again....we are not ready.
If anyone wants info one what to do/what would happen, there are a lot of places to look up on Yahoo! search.
Thanks.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.
According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

This is Oklahoma we all have storm cellars.
They found out in Nevada that by building shelters to save you from a nuclear bomb was you made a perfect oven to vaporize yourself in.
There is no shelter from a nuclear war.
A storm cellar far away would save you from the initial blast
but fall out is what you die from and when all the plants die there is nothing to eat. Your best bet is to be close and out in the open and get it over with quick.

sure - this may be an extension of the 'screw the individuals' plan that we see in result each day. genuinely the worthless previous white adult males (those too previous to procreate and too worhtless to do some thing for themselves) are despatched to a secret bunker the position they're saved alive till the Earth is liveable. some thing individuals - those who're of any use to the rustic - are left to our personal instruments on the floor of the planet. kind of humorous, sure?

If you're near ground zero then your chances of suvival are the same as winning a lottery - nil.
The further you are from the blast the better your chances of immediate survival, but your long term chances can still low because of radiation.

Sure. In case of nuclear attack, I'll put my hands palm flat on the calfs of each corresponding leg, bend completely, head on chest, between my legs and kiss my a$$ goodbye.

I live in western Nebraska and the way I figure it this will be one of the first places they hit because of all the missile silos we have out here. So we're all pretty much gone anyway so why prolong our destiny. We're all going to die any way and I'd rather go fast.

nope, I have plans for more minor things like if someone tries to kidnap me lol. Something as big and destructive as a nuclear war... well my mind can't comprehend it!

I'd rather be at ground zero. Between the illness, environmental impacts, and all the rest...I'd really rather NOT be one of the survivors.
