If you're committed to either abstinence or reliable birth control, you shouldn't even be pondering that question. If you do find yourself in that situation, and your parents are normal and reasonable people, I would just tell them straight out, as soon as you find out. Maybe do it at a restaurant or another public place so they will be more apt to control themselves if they become enraged. You seem young so my advice is DON"T LET IT HAPPEN!! Parenthood is a huge responsibility. I am 35, married for 10 years, own a home and am financially secure and I STILL find it to be the hardest thing I've ever done. Babies aren't just cute outfits and giggles. Teenagers are supposed to be selfish. There is no room for selfishness in parenthood. Sorry to be harsh but ever since I became a mom, I am stunned by the sheer number of children being raised by teenagers who are not prepared for the responsibility. They are just ensuring a future generation of unproductive adults who commit crimes and drain our country's economy. Of course, there are exceptions. I don't want to offend any young mom out there trying to do the right thing. I just think every precaution should be taken to ensure any person of any age is ready for the awesome task of raising a child. I mean, it's appalling that you need a license to cut someone's hair but any schmuck can be a parent!!!
