Are italians considered white?

Hey guys, I'm italian. I look white but I dont like people thinking I'm white that's why I tan twice a year.

I think when someone says white they mean that you not like Mexican, African American something to that order. I mean I'm American Indian and I am white but do tan if out in the sun

That depends on what part you are from. Are you from the boot or are you from Sicily? Do you remember the scene in True Romance when Dennis Hopper, realizing he is about to die, gets a dig in at the Sicilian mafia Don that he is, in fact, not white, at least not 100%.

i'm white and i don't consider Italians white...they have the pigmentation of the Mediterranean people.......greeks, italians, jews, turks, north africans to name a few....

Its wierd, I am mexican, born here in USA, half my heritage is from Spain, the other is Mex. Indian, my husband is Mexican too, He's Itallian heritage, last name BRISENO. Wierd but he is not considered white, although you are. :)
