Last night when i let my dog out, i saw a baby bird that fell out of its nest. It looked about 1 day old.
Then today my gramma found 3 more that fell out of the same nest.
Should we leave them alone since the momma bird seemed to be taking care of the first one, or should we call Animal Controll, and have them see what to do???

I've got a lot of links to wildlife carers from a lot of countries on my site, at
http://au.geocities.com/leaswebsite/links under "Wildlife Assistance" - just click on them all, click on your country and state, have a browse, 'phone them and ask their advice.

Very very best of luck.

A day old baby bird is pink and blind. If it has feathers, and the parents are caring for them let them be. You can place them in the tree, to get them off the ground. Birds do not have much a sense of smell, so they won't mind you touching the babies.
Most animal shelters will NOT take wildlife. And many wildlife rescues and overwhelmed and will not take them unless they are an endangered species.
You said the parents seemed to be caring for them, you might try to find a small box with kind of low sides, and fix it to a branch, and put the babies in it. The parents may take care of them there. If not, the babies are probably doomed. Sorry.

put them in the nest if you can reach it,i have taken care of many many baby birds of all kinds its okay to touch them with your bare hands i found a baby mocking bird that fell out of his nest, it was hot outside so i rubbed water on him then i made it a nest. i watched and the parents fed him.if its got most its feathers leave it, its called a fledgling & even if it cant fly it is time for it to come out the nest.but if you want to call animal control & tell them somthing like, there mom was killed by a cat. worked for me, if they know that they have a mom they wont take them even if they are a day old.hope thise helps you!!

tough call...usually , it's best to let nature take care of itself. But, if a cat's around, I always try to find a nest close by. It's happening everywhere. I fished 2 drowned baby mockingbirds out of the pool, and they had feathers. Just rest assured, for everyone that doesn't make it , there are hundreds and thousands more that do. Nature is good at taking care of itself. Sometimes we just need to leave it alone.

You should put them back in the nest. There is a chance they blew out, their parents will take care of them if you put them back soon, if not they may abandon the nest.

Do not touch them with your bare hands, your scent will get on them, and if the mother is still around she won't care for them anymore. Try putting them back in the nest with gloved hands. If the mother pushes them back out, call animal control.

Please return it to the nest! Most birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell so your scent is not something to worry about. If the parents do not return please get it to the nearest wildlife rehabilitation center immediately. Improper care or feeding will kill a baby bird as surely as neglect.

one time we found a baby bird which we took care of, but during the day we left it outside and it's parents found it and took care of it again. if you have cats in your neighbrhood you should be careful though.
