Ginger Ale with actual ginger can help nausea. Brands like Canada Dry and Schweps do not have ginger in them, so you may get help from the sugar and bubbles, but not as much help as you would from a brand like Hansen's.

standard ginger ale (carbonated soda) will not really help, they took out the ginger... ginger ale soda is good in general because it is lite and bubbly without being over kill

if you go to ginger beer (the high octane version of the soda and still has the ginger) then it will either cure you or eat your stomach lining (depends on your tolerance level)

if you eat ginger in almost any form it will relieve nausea, the easiest way is the chewy ginger candies or crystalline ginger

beware of ginger teas... omg they taste nasty!

of stomach secretions. This herb also combats nausea and vomiting.
Ginger also possesses carminative, antiflatulant, and spasmolytic

Ginger has digestive value...the carbonation added will sometimes ease stomach distress. However, don't drink it really cold if your stomach is upset. Sometimes a really cold drink on an upset stomach only makes it spasm.
