I would definaley say that he is the next one to Jordan and in a few years with practice and hard work, and if everything goes well with his career, he will be better than Jordan! i mean he has it in him, he has great athletic genes and a phenominal talent, but right now time will tell!Anybody who says kobe isn't a great player is an idiot/hater and those who love/know basketball will realize and see that kobe is the next best and he is a great player on and off court, he is only human and he makes mistakes and i am sure there are a lot of people who are doing worst! He is under a lot of limelight and they will make it public for him because he is black, i mean if it were a white boy everything/everybody would be on his side! Haters are gonna hate but Kobe is the best!

Kobe bryant is no where near being the best player in the nba. the only reason why he got 82 points in the game is because there was nobody else on his team to do the scoring. He has no type of defense. If u want to know who the best player in basketball is then i'll tell u right not. Tracy McGrady

Kobe is better than Michael Jordan.
And to the idiots who claim it's all about 'the rings', ever hear of a fellow named Bill Russell? The greatest winner in the history of ANY sport. Jordan doesn't come close.
Jordan was the result of hype by ESPN and David Stern. He was a great player, but not close to being the best ever.

I have to differ with your statement [I think he is cause he's that great ] because the greatest play doesn't just consist of offensive skill. More specifically his own offensive skill. A candidate for greatest player is able to score when he wants [as Kobe does] but yet give the ball up to his team and play defense.

No Michael Jordan he made players around him better and he also has one 3 more champion ships kobe has made no one around him better and shaq was the one that set kobe up to score all his points in the finals caz the apponits would double team him and kobe would have the open shot

In terms of talent, he is just as good as MJ and maybe even a little better. But he hasn't accomplished half of what Jordan accomplished and still needs to show he can be equally successful playing with a team as he is playing one-on-one. If he somehow pulls off championship with the lousy team he has now, he would definitely be considered one of the greatest ever.
