I'd say take a hot bath, relax don't do too much activity. Take some medicine. Ibuprofin thins the blood and can make you bleed even more. Iwould take tylenol or try midol.

Midol, a dark room, and sleep.
Try keeping a food/activity diary for a few weeks, where you write down what you ate and whether/how much you exercised, and how bad the cramps were. This might help you figure out if there's specific triggers.
The Pill also can help lessen migraines and cramps.

Midol Menstrual. It is THE BEST!!! I've even got my husband trained to say "Take your meds" whenever I say I'm in pain! LOL I found that it works great without you having to do much else.
However, the cramps are also a good reason to lay down...by stretching out and laying fairly flat, it can help them go away.

Ibuprophen and ThermaCare Heat Wraps for menstrual cramps. They are self adhesive and disposable. The heat lasts for 8 hours. I swear by them!

A glass of red wine is great, it helps relax the muscles and always helps me when the cramps are really bad. Even if it doesn't make them go away all together, you won't mind quite as much...

I asked the same question.
People told me to drink hot tea, take a hot bath, use a heating pad, take pain pills, and one thing i learned is to lay on your back and point your toes and lift your arms above your head onto the floor and try to streach out your stomach. Craps are mostly caused by your stomach cramping up.
Hope you feel better!

exercising extra about a week before my period hits always cuts down on the cramps - they're still there, but they're a lot less severe.

Ibuprofen, or Motrin, a day before you are to get them. Or get a presciption for birth control pills.
