Does anyone else want to boycott Old Navy and Gap for their stupid return policy that they recently enacted? You can't bring in clothes (even with tag on, and remember all their clothes are their own brand so you couldn't buy them anywhere else) without a receipt and do an exchange. You have to return it, wait for a refund in the mail, and then go back in to make a purchase. Give me a break! Just because they're popular they think they can enact such a ridiculous policy and get away with it! Is anyone else totally peeved at this?

wow that is weird. i didnt know that, but that does seem a little weird. what if you got it as a gift or something? you might not always have the receipt. and a mail return seems like it would take a lot of time... i dont think i would go back in the store. more people would be more likely to buy something else after the return if they gave cash back right there, or even store credit.

You may not want to hear this, but clothing at the Gap and Old Navy and any other clothing store has a short amount of time at regular price (4-6 weeks). This amount of time is predetermined and adherred to as the stores need to make room for new collections due to changes in weather and styles. If a customer buys a shirt for $20 at regular price, the shirt is only worth $20 for that 4-6 weeks. If you return that shirt 8 weeks later, that shirt is only worth say $12. So when the shirt is returned it has to be sold for $12. The company then loses $8 when they resell it. To make up for such losses on an aggregate level, clothing stores would then need to build in such profit losses into their prices. So by limiting returns, companies are improving their profitability & helping to keep prices at a lower levels for the consumers.

I haven't heard about that. Ridiculous. Their clothes stretch. I buy a small and after a single wash it becomes a medium. Boycott. All the way.
