Libertarians believe that you have the right to live your life as you wish, without the government interfering -- as long as you don’t violate the rights of others. Politically, this means Libertarians favor rolling back the size and cost of government, and eliminating laws that stifle the economy and control people’s personal choices.

In regards to the "mutant" question -- the site has a quiz regarding your political leanings, once you've answered all the questions and scored it, it explains Left - Right - Statist - Centrist - Libertarian through a graph. Check it out here:

Libertarian is a somewhat new political party who's purpose was to bring back the ideals of classic liberalism, it's purpose is somewhat muddled and the platform undeveloped. They are a very small party that has been unable to speak to America in a clear voice. The issue with Libertarians is that their extreme lefty idealist are for total anarchy (Worse than dem leftist) which is a great wish for a world educated and ready for it but geeeeeze.

Hearkat said and I agree totally with her:

"To the person who says it doesn't provide for the misfortunate:
The idea is that instead of the government taking our money from us and deciding how it should be spent, we get to decide for ourselves and can support the social causes we believe in. I know that if I had more of MY money at my disposal, I would be able to make donations to the organizations that I care about."

As a matter of fact the main reason for the decline of classic liberal thought was that fact that it was percieved as not caring enough when in fact it was very fortelling in that it could provide and care much better without being to personal or prying into the lives of others.

As another matter of fact this is the way things worked for the most part before the 1930's and believe me folks if you have taken the time to really get to know many smart old people you know the world was a better place for it.

A libertarian is a person who hasn't a prayer of getting elected anywhere except maybe the state legislature of Alaska or New Hampshire. They never get elected to Congress (on the Libertarian ticket -- Ron Paul is elected as a Republican) or a governorship. Consistently no more than 1/2% of the Presidential vote (in a good year).
