A "replica" is generally an acknowledged copy of an original piece of work/art. What that means is, it's a reproduction that is being marketed as a reproduction. A replica can be the same size, smaller or larger, depending on the artist who chooses to create the copy (or copies). Whether the second person has received the right to create a copy of the original work is a completely different story.
A 'fake' is an item that also is not by the original creator... but is being marketed as if it is.
The problem with both, especially in the area of apparel and accessories, is that reproductions of items that are currently on the market take away from the profits of the original creator/artist... or, to put it more bluntly, it's a form of stealing.
Purchasing a replica/fake isn't worth it, generally speaking (and pardon the pun).

In a mechanism, a replica has all the same shapes and same arrangements of parts of the original. Where it deviates from the original (such as modern spark plugs, or safety glass windshield) this is carefully noted. They are handbuilt, which makes them expensive. They are made to commemorate history and let younger people experience those earlier times (e.g. 1903 Oldsmobile, 1896 Benz). Certain historic rifles have been replicated, like the 1873 Winchester.

A replica is a fake.
Replicas with the logo of the original product can cause the maker and distributor to lose their goods to destruction, and their freedom to a federal prison.
But if you mean just buying a replica on the street, many times they are of the same quality. That is why is pi$$es the original makers off so much.

Basically no difference. When they say replica, they are supposed to be as close to the real thing as possible without having the true brand name. With fake, there can be more subtle differences and they don't have to worry about correctness as much. However, both aren't the real thing anyway and you shouldn't pay nearly as much for either.

well there is a different difference between everything. If you are talking about jewelery, you would have to see the ingravement on the inside, like a ring or a tiffanys neaklace. On purses, you would have to see an official logo, or trademark. You can also go to a jeweler or someone like that, to have them find out.
Wish you the best

A replica is advertised as a replica. A fake is advertised as real.

Anything that is a replica of something is obviously not the real thing therefore it would be fake/immitation.

They are the same thing - both are illegal to sell, make, and transport.
