I know the make and model of any car/truck just by looking at it's head/tail lights. Even at night, way before any car approaches me, I can tell what kind of car it is by looking at its lights in my mirror. Alot of times, I can tell just by looking at the rims of a car. Also, I know what kind of cars are reliable and which are not. I know excatly what kind of problems you might encounter with a particular car. Unfortunately, I know nothing about fixing them!

I would work as a contractor and help police solve crimes involving automobiles, or any crime where the assailant got away, but the description of the automobile is fuzzy. Sometimes it is very hard for police to crack cases where there is a poor description of the automobile. I think your talents would be quite useful there.

make up a website and put all the things you know down about each and every car and model and make and their problems (things to watch out for in a ... ) etc. Use lots of keywords and write a fair amount of text - oh and be sure to make plenty of room for Google AdSense. Apart from that you can get localized advertising show up depending on what page someone is on like for an auto-workshop in nebraska if the IP number is from nebraska or whatever.

You are right this is a unique talent.
Maybe you can work at a used car dealership. People want to know this info when they buy a used car. Maybe you can advertise yourself as a used car consultant. But that, I would think would require you to be able to assess a specific car, not the car model generally.

I know a guy who can do the same thing. I think it comes with just knowing cars really well.
I don't know if you can make money out of it though...
Try and go on a talent show or something?
Or just get into working with cars.

Go to a car dealer and try to get a job, usually they will give you a chance if you sell yourself right. The automotive section is not a bad idea, it's always kinda nice having someone talk to you that actually knows what he is talking about!

my boyfriend is exactly the same way. he can also tell a car by the sound of the engine. doesn't even have to see it. but he can fix cars too. maybe you should look into becoming a mechanic? or do something having to do with cars? maybe car salesman? if you have a lot of knowledge about something, people will trust you..........

Become a mechanic or sell cars. This is the only way you can really make some $$ on this talent.

You will not earn any money (working) with that talent , but you could make money gambling with someone who thinks that he may be better than you.
Take out an add challenging anyone to try to beat you.
Maybe there is someone that will respond.
