Is this an admission of guilt, like he already cheated, or will cheat?
He also admitted to cheating on his ex-wife on many occasions and then told me that he was lying, "trying to impress me."

Sounds like he intends to break up with you, but wants to make YOU do it; in other words, B---SH--! Like, he wants the house. No, make HIM leave. Sounds like a pretty bad relationship anyway, even sick. You know you deserve better!

you need to leave him. If he's cheated once he'll cheat again. Women are always trying to change men! Don't try and change him get another him all together!

Though I don't know the situation and obviously can't tell you what he's thinking, it seems to me like when a man tells you to leave it's usually because they don't have the guts to leave you themselves. It might be a good idea to sit down and talk to him about everything that's going on, but don't hesitate to leave if you think he's lied or been unfaithful.

Yes it's an admission of guilt. This guy has serious issues and should seek counselling alone first then with you.

Follow your heart it will lead you.As for him I feel that he wants the easy way out. But,I would make it hard.If you love him fight for him find out what he's really up to.Sit down and have a heart to heart and see if he will confess,if he don't want to talk then let him go.Life is to short to live with someone who won't communicate with you.

It sounds like you defiantly need to talk with a counselor, to help you and especially him find out what that real problem is that is causing this sort of thought process.
