Last year I started in October.. Anyone start before that?

I normally start in August/September. That way, your bank account doesn't take such a big hit all at once right before Christmas.

I normally start in July ... I have five kids & a big family, so it's a necessity to spread out the spending & shopping. Last year I was finished by October.

well, i dont celebrate xmas, but i do have two holidays that i celebrate. so i start about 6 months before, sometimes sooner. this way, if i see somethings that are on sale, i get them, and put them up for the gift giving. this makes it so it not a burden on me, or my family, and i usually dont feel it. i never understood my friends going into debt, just to buy gifts. so yes, i would recommend to buy as you can. especially when kids are involved. this way, you will feel happy about giving, and they will feel happy about getting some good things.

I don't purposely start buying before the fall, but if I see something that I think someone will like I get it. If I don't get it when I see it, I regret it later.

SWEAR TO GOD...my aunt is already done xmas shopping for 2006..she always start in January and on the day after thanksgiving sales, she'll only..ONLY shop for herself... oh..and yes..she does wrap up her own gifts..tag it TO: (her name) FROM: (her name) and unwrap it in front of us..I LOVE HER!

Any day of the year! If I was to see something I know someone else would like, I would wait till Xmas to give it to them. :)
