but down ur bed joint and install tape....if this is ur first try at this then use fiber mesh, easier to work with. let dry.......take a 8 inch knife ( sheetrock blade) and skim. let dry....then came back and use 12 inch knife and do it again.....

if u ca get it ask for "light mud"......easier to work with and to sand.

I removed the paper for about an inch back on both sides. Then I scraped some of the plaster out until it was down low enough to tape and still be below the wall surface. Then tape and mud. When you think it's good enough put a coat of primer on it and check it in a couple hours. Most of the time the seam filling will shrink and you will have to mud some more. After that it should look real good.

Find some spackle tape that is semi-perforated. Run a strip of the tape down the seam, then a strip of tape down both sides of that first strip. If the gap between the two pieces of drywall is large, cauck down that gap (and let dry) before applying the tape. Make sure you feather the joint compound a good 8" away from the seam (otherwise, when you paint, you'll see a big bump in the wall).

Use a damp sponge on the compound to "sand" - this is wet sanding and much easier for your lungs.

Go ahead and tape & mud like there was a recessed seam but use a very wide - at least 12" knife and spread the mud further out.

The taper will be so gradual it will dissapear.

Take a sharpe knife /razor and cut the jagged edge...almost bevel the edge so that the nothing is sticking up and tape and mud to your hearts content as you would any other dry wall..!!
Mud covers up a lot if applied right..!!!

You need an edging trowel to do the finish work

you need to feather it, or rather do it as you normally would but you need to cover more area to blend it in. i've done it.
