With the recent ruling, Inter Milan heads into the new Serie A season as the defending champions. With that, it almost seems like they are guaranteed to win it again.

Juventus: demoted, with a 30 point penalty (which almost guarantees two seasons in Serie B)
Lazio: demoted, with a 7 point penalty
Fiorentina: demoted, with a 12 point penalty
AC Milan: 15 point penalty and disqualified from both UEFA events

With the new Italian league, the only team that can really challenge Inter is Roma, as AC Milan most likely will not be able to overcome their penalty.

I was glad when I heard Inter Milan had won last year's Serie A season with the recent ruling.

Besides Roma and Chievo and maybe Parma I see no problem for Inter to win the 2006/2007 season.

But the bigest question is with Juventus, Lazio, and Fiorentina relegated does this mean Messina, Lecce and Treviso are unrelegated or will we see Atalanta, Catania and Torino FC (the clubs who were promoted from Serie B) joined by Mantova, Modena and Cesena who finish 4th, 5th and 6th respectively in Serie B?

In other words have 3 clubs from Serie A been relegated or have 6 clubs been relegated from Serie A?

You better believe it;the path is clear. As a Juventina my heart is broken. All we can hope for is a reprieve on appeal;we almost certainly will lose all our stars accept Del Piero.
