A first cousin, once removed, if the son/daughter of your great-aunt/uncle. They are a first cousin, but one generation different than you are. Like a regular first cousin is the son/daughter of your aunt/uncle.

I read this and I still can't explain it. See if you can figure it out. The best I can come up with is that it's the person that married your grandmother or grandfather's first cousin. (I think you mean once removed -try searching that.)
