were dragons real but mabe went extinct? mabe they couldnt breathe fire but might there have been big flying reptiles that were like dinosaurs? i mean, almost every culture from all parts of the world have myths about dragons. if creatures like t-rex or pteranedon existed, why not dragons?

I think it is possible. I know across the world there are myths/ stories/pictures of dragons in one form or another. I remember a few years back there was a show on tv about them. They had figured out everything about them and how they would have coexisted with the dinosaurs if they did exist. They had figured out through science that if they did breath fire and had wings and could fly how it would be possible for them. It went from when they were young to old and what their lifes would have been like. So if some scientists believe it could be possible that's even more of a reason to believe it was possible.

A show I saw on dragons said they couldn't have been endagered dinosaurs that humans told about in tales b/c humans and dinosaurs never existed together-according to the carbon dating system, the two species are millions of years apart; the theory that the definition of a dragon came from 'big fish' tales to make a person seem stronger, bigger, etc was questionable b/c there are reports of dragons everywhere that are too similiar; the Bible mentions a 'behemoth' and a 'leviathon' but it's still up to the individual's interpretation of their description. Since there's only one mention in the whole book and nothing else similiar in that or surrounding cultures, it's questionable itself what exactly is being described or if it was an animal that truly existed

A question dealing with what is real and what is not is hard to answer. Considering we don't know what reality is, why we are here, where we came from, where we are going, considering we argue whether or not time exists and what exactly it is, considering all scientific laws break down when you try to explain where the universe came from, considering is is debated whether or not we exist in a universe or a multiverse......

To answer your question anything is possible because we do not understand the laws that govern this existence and probably never will. Its possible you could throw a stone from a second story window and have it float up instead of falling down. Its highly unlikely but the possibility can not be entirely ruled out. *whew* well that's my soapbox for today :)

Those are called pterosaurs.

Because dragons are mythological creatures imbued with magical powers. Dinosaurs were animals with no magical abilities.

I don't know why not. The Bible spoke of giant men in the beginning of time. Why not dragons for them to ride or fight, or whatever? It only makes sense to me that if there were giant men there were giant animals as well. We have proof of the dinosaur, just not of the dragon. And how do we know that a pteranedon wasn't really a dragon? All they have are bones to go by and nothing else.

yes dragons have been proven real,and they were probobly a flying reptile. the bible has a story about a dragon,a true story at that,the popular cartoon yu-gi-oh has taken the name and used it, it was called the lav`iethen,and it says it will come back in the end of time,but i'm not sure about that though, and they found drawing in caves about dragons,people fought with them along time ago

Yes. There's so much reference to creatures of this sort from dragons to the Piasa Bird of Alton, IL that there must have been some sort of bizarre animals back in the day.

I still think they exist in some place far from here, preserved and waiting for our top scientists to revive them with cloning technology so that we can domesticate them for our own purposes
