How do you properly clean a Mounted Air Conditioner?

It seems as though we use our Air Conditioner my Wife complains of Headache etc.

the first thing you need to do is remove it from the window or wall. next you have to remove the cover from around it. this also includes the front. the air moves through the air conditioner in to directions. the first thing you have to cover up the fan motor. if possible take it out side, you need to use water to clean it. get your self a sprayer(something like a 1 gallon weed sprayer). fill it with warm water and a mild detergent. there are two coils on a window a/c unit. to clean the inside coil you will need to spray from the inside out, because the air flows from the room into the unit. to clean the outside coil you will have to spray from the out side into the inside because the air travels from the middle through the coil out the back. in other words you have to flush the coils in the opposite direction the air flows. spray until you are sure the water is clean, then rinse the same way.

OK , to do this right , you need someone like Dennis to come and clean your unit. I am in the business, and I know what I'm doing. Dennis is on the mark. I use something much more stronger for a cleaner, strong enough I wont tell you what it is because you can pay someone $60 to come do it for you , the right way, and you wont get hurt. The American way, save a buck and make a mess or get hurt.

remove it from the window. Remove the housing cover. spray wit soap and water. Hose down let dry very very good reinstall
