I was ready to go out with friends, I was wearing a cute mini and higher heels than they had ever seen me in. My mood was destroyed by the comment that I looked "so slutty:. I went from feeling great to feeling like total crap. The next day he told me "there's nothing to apologize for, because I was joking"...and also said "we are very blunt, we tell it like it is". How should I handle this? Right now we are not speaking.

If he were joking, he would have said that right away. He probably should apologize, give it time. If he is a really good friend, don't let something like this destroy your friendship, it's not worth it. For the record, it was a crappy thing to say.

You should have gotten a few different opinions from some friends before wearing whatever it was out in public.....you may have felt comfortable in it but take into consideration the kind of attention that you want to bring to yourself and the people that are kickin' it with you for the evening...I've experienced having people around me dressed way, way, way too provocatively and not only did I not like all of the negative attention that they were attracting but neither did any of our other friends ..especially considering we were all going out to kinda chill and just have some fun . You should save that type of gear for a night where everyone that you are with agrees with being whores for the night. Believe me honey we all feel like being a little slutty at times ...its not a bad thing ..its just that there is a time and place for everything.Oh and gay folk are very "keepin' it real" kinda people...don't be mad about what he said ....just be grateful that you have someone around you who cares enough to tell you the truth ....instead of "sugarcoating" the situation. Now if you are not sure if he cares about you as a friend or not then I would definitely question his motives for making a statement like that.........only you know the answer to that !

Don't loose a friend over that kinda mess. I'm a very honest person as well and I don't censor myself either. If you had on a mini skirt and heels than I'm guessing you were going for that look on purpose anyway, we all do once in a while. He didn't CALL YOU a slut did he? Don't take it so personal, and just be glad you got someone so honest in your life. Own your slutty outfit and don't be mad when someone calls you on it. Just be like "Thanks, that was the point!" Shut em up like that. : )

I really wouldn't let it bother you. After all what kind of taste would a this guy have anyway? Think about it, this guy actually puts his penis in another mans anus. or the other way around. Now tell me, who is dirtier, or sluttier than that. You need to drop this butt full of weenie off at the next stop, and surround yourself with some people who say things that make you feel better about yourself. I'm sure your a nice person and probably looked sexy that night. That's coming from a man who can appreciate a woman's beauty.

Well, anyone can make a mistake. You told your friend this hurt your feelings. Let it go one time. Another blunt remark (knowing you will be hurt) and the friendship is over.

You were right to be upset. Tell your friend how you feel. And that it didn't seem like a joke to you. Sometimes we open mouth and speak before we engage our brains. Maybe he didn't mean to hurt you and was really joking.

People are sometimes very insensitive to how much their remarks can destroy someone's self esteem. YOU set the rules for what you find acceptable in how people make you feel. If he made you feel like **** then he did, wether he thinks you should have felt like **** about it or not. He should apologize for hurting your feelings.

baby girl, you need a thicker skin. if it's not true, then you shouldn't worry about it. i would react differently, i would say"thanks, that's how i get guys". with my gay friends, word plays are very important. you can't take it seriously otherwise, you'll create social shell.
