... the USSR seemed to be more of an implosion of incompetence... but I agree that people don't like the guy that's on top at the time... of course it doesn't help when the "big guy on campus" is a d*ck either...

1. There were no covert operations with the strict intent of destroying the USSR.
2. China will collapse in on itself, within the next 15 years. It does not have the world support financially to do otherwise.
3. Other countries hate America right now, because of the liberal media doing a wonderful job of character assassination on this administration.
4. Russia is becoming a super power again. They have finally figured capitalism out and are not doing too shabby a job of it.
5. The USA and Russia will rebuild China, after its collapse.

No. I do not agree.
During the cold war America had to fear only one other superpower. Now, following the fall of the USSR, in consequence, emerging nuclear countries have more liberty to become nuclear power. That would mean that the fall of the USSR helped many countries to actually emerge to become a nuclear power.
USA's probable biggest achievement against the USSR was winning the space race.
Most countries, especially in the Middle East that claim hating America, is mostly because they hate our way of life.
Also, by your statement you believe that USA is evil.

What are you smoking? The only way the USA toppled Russia was we out spent them. They no longer could afford to keep up in the race. The USSR also has a leader who saw the benefits of change for the better for his country.

China? Seriously?
China has a gargantuan burden: usher in capitalistic and democratic reform demand from a populace constituting close to 25% of humanity.
Cost: Fogettaboutit!
China would unquestionably be viewed as a bullying, totalitarian, imperial state if it ever seeks to impose its will in its own sphere of influence (pacific rim) let alone elsewhere in the world. The Japans, Taiwans, Phillipines, Vietnams, South Koreas and Indias of the world will always seek to align themselves under the Stars and Stripes when push comes to shove.
The dangerous (for communism) gambit of free economic zones and managed capitalism practiced by China today is indicative of the immense issues it must face at home, let alone winning some victory as the de facto world leader.
The culture is not open to democracy, diplomacy or multi-culturalism, as are so many other major global players; the society is burdened with severe poverty, disease, a mix of economic systems and class segregations, decrepit infrastructure, technological gaps with the rest of the civilized world and a distinct reliance on military to 'squeeze' foes and friends into seeing things their way.
If a country were primed for a Soviet-style toppling into democracy, China would be it.
I think the USA is best served by cleaning up its internal mess (economic policy, immigration, jobs/wages, wealth gaps) and external mess (varied and numerous) in the next two election cycles. The USA needs to STRATEGICALLY stick its neck out on foreign affairs and show strong but even-handed and thoughtful leadership (which I think with North Korea and the Israel/Palestinian issue it has to some extent, with Iran- well, let's be honest, that's where our troops really should be). Unfortunately, the next four years will be spent lame-ducking Bush's presidency out and testing the waters with whoever's next. This is a critical juncture for the USA, but it may serve as a good pause for us Americans to really clean house and get our priorities straight (education, solid job environment, technological prowess, secure borders) before we go meddling elsewhere.
Meanwhile, China is allowing their people to finally buy gold. Do you know what that means? If not, research the importance of gold on global economies and what this will mean to currencies worldwide (especially the yuan and dollar). This could even hasten the deconstruction of the Chinese communist state into one more representative of its people- industrious, commercially-minded and eager to tear down that Red Curtain.
As for hating America, you are right, everyone hates the guy on top, but it's better to be on top, than anywhere else, and a weak America will not serve the greedy interests of Europe, OPEC or for that matter the more reliant Russia and China who depend on our consumptive ways.
So, your argument has some merit, but is refutable on an economic standing.

You have left out a lot and really simplified things almost to much, but judging by your audience that is okay.
I beg you however, to show me one little inkling of a hint of the USA falling.
China has its own problems, they are improving, but lets face it they are just getting rolling on the industrial revolution, we have already left that behind. I don't consider China a great friend, but I don't think the story on them is done yet. They still need to emerge from Communism fully before they can really get going.
Oh I almost forgot, there are two reasons and two reasons ONLY for the collapse of the Soviet Empire.
1) Communism is a flawed system is will always lead to failure and decay, the only question is how long it will take.
2) And this is only because of number 1, we forced them into an arms race, were we could spend 10% of our GDP on military spending but for them to keep up they had to spend 60% of their GDP. The simply was an excelerant to the natural decay of communism but very effective. (Thanks Reagan)

America is hated for it's expansionism of it's ideology of democracy, which is not in lines with other nation's ideology of demorcacy. Americans are Capitolist while other nations are born of religous values. How did the USSR get into this? Because they conceeded the cold war? I think not.
