My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. It use to be Christmas but any more it is not the way it should be. It isn't about getting everything you Fu***ng want and it isn't about the commercially advertised b.s either.

Independence Day for the USA. I feel that this is the only TRUE holiday. Every other holiday is based on religions (Xmas), birthdays (Washington...), legend (Thanksgiving), or just because (labor day). Independence is the one holiday that all Americans can celebrate and is the one holiday that there is no pressure to give out the ultimate gift. When the forth of July comes around, I just feel good.

I've always rooted for the underdog--Thanksgiving. People use it as a 4-day weekend to do their Christmas shopping and it irritates me. Not only do we not care about the symbology behind Thanksgiving, although I do feel for the Native Americans, but I was born the day after Thanksgiving and any birthday gifts I get are just early Christmas presents.
Have you ever gone looking for Thanksgiving decorations? There aren't a whole lot to choose from, although I'm doing my part by making and selling them at www.gingers-giraffes.com.

Although Christmas can be fun....I think, nowadays, it's Thanksgiving.
It's the one day of the year I go all-out, and prepare an elaborate feast.
The entire family is here at the same time, simply to enjoy a great meal (if I do say so, myself), and each others company.
None of the rush and expectations you usually have with something like Christmas.

I have two
1. Halloween: Because I love spooky stuff and halloween lets me embrace my spooky side, and I'm very supersitious so this is like me homecoming to the supersitious side of me.
2. Christmas: Because I love getting presents enough said.

Christmas time... remembering the birth of Jesus... it is a wonderful, heartbreaking story at the same time, as to what his parents endured, so they could have a place for His birth...and what came after the birth of God's son
