I'm not sure about the health benefits. I'm sorry. I know it is healthy for you but I don't know exactly why.
I do love the taste of garlic, even raw garlic in a salad. I don't use as much as you though. :-)
Just be aware that it's not just your breath that will smell. Your body will also begin to give off an odor if you eat a lot of it.

I think you may be turning Italian...seriously, I eat garlic every day, lots of it in everything. If it's what your body wants, give it to it!
The next time you roast chicken, either whole or in pieces, put whole cloves of garlic in the pan with it, with the papery skin still on the cloves. It will roast in the juices of the chicken and be sweet like butter when it's done. I just eat the cloves whole like that...mmmmmh.

Once a year, I crave garlic too. It's very good for you. It may be a sign that your body needs vitamin C.

There are definite health benefits to eating garlic, but aside from that listen to your body it knows what it needs and remember you control the amount a lot will definitely seep through your pores as well as your breath, use parsley with it. Enjoy! I use it in my cooking also.

You're onto something when you say the body knows what it needs. That's why experts say "don't sweat it" when kids eat dirt. The body will develope a craving for something it needs.

Usually you crave what you are allergic too. But then they do say eat what your body is asking for. I would add it to some dishes and see if it satisfies your craving. If you get sick you will know you are allergic to it.
