Most foundations have a twist off top, what I've always been taught it test it on the back of your hand, if it blends in smoothly then it's the right color...I use Cover Girl brand and the best rule is make it look natural. You can always go to a department store ( Jones, JC Penny) and they can always give you pointers and tips and help you pick the right colors...

Get a powder and a liquid, that works. Go to some low-key place like CVS or some little drugstore, and open up one of the bottles and dab a little on your face, check the mirror in your purse. That's what I did, but be discreet, and try to be very close to what it really is. Or, at Kohls, they have samples for everything. Last night I went there, redid all my makeup with the qtips they give you, and only bought some black eyeshadow.

start with using a powder foundation, try putting it next to your face to match up the color to your skin it will not match perfectly but get something that's the same tone, you need to know also if you have oily skin you should buy oil free products

Not every body needs foundation. Try a light bronzer instead and use a large blush brush and lightly dust your face. You'll have a nice sun-kissed look.

go to any department stores, and go to the make up place, and ask the lady over there to help you out. Like what colors suit you and how you should apply it

some places have special things to show you what your color is. But if they don't, ask some people what colors they like for u.
