Isreal is an Ally. If there is full out war, are we not reqiured to help?

From what I've heard, it is very possible, especially if/when Israel is attacked from all sides. They are our country's ally, and the U.S. would attack their enemies.

I don't believe World War III is eminent. Yes, it looks eerily similar to the world in 1914, right before WWI started, with a series of complicated alliances all falling into place like dominoes. However, things are much different now. Since then we have become more of a world community thanks to economic globalization. That alone is a VERY strong reason not to have a world war. A world war would destroy economic globalization, (not permenantly thank goodness) and most countries simply will not stand for that. Now, this is not to say a world war is impossible. Several state leaders are mentally ill (Kim Jong Il particularly,) while others don't give a damn about geo-economics since their own economies are moving backward more then forward. The countries to worry about are the ones that have nothing to lose (North Korea is #1.) So, ultimately, cooler heads will prevail and Iran most likely think twice before striking against Israel, knowing that it would be ruinous for them to lose their oil fields in the process.

All that has to happen for WW3 to break out is for Isreal to hit Syria. At that point Iran will join in. Then at some point the US will join because of our Alliance with Isreal. As all this happens China and Russia will be sitting there watching there BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars they have Invested in Irans Oil being blowed up. And at some point they will join in to defend one of there MAJOR oil suppliers. As this happens All NAtions will begin to take sides It will be Good Verses Evil Lets Just hope our side wins.

I am afraid that WWIII has already started. Conflict in Africa, conflict in Iraq, conflict in Isreal/Lebanon. Frankly, I'm very worried. I also heard a story today that Japan was considering preemptive strikes on Isreal. I hope that's not true.

Cause Israel would do a world of help. ww3...no. I'm not afraid of that. My attention is shifted more towards N. Korea right now, considering if they can launch a WORKING nuke, it would probably hit the coast of Cali. The radiation from that would travel right across the golf stream. Yea, WW3...not exactly on my mind,.

These are the end times. What do you expect. The good news is that Jesus is that much closer to coming to earth! If we are lucky Lebanon will accidentally hit the golden dome on the dome of the rock and Armageddon will officially begin.

what happened to Americas role as a diplomatic voice in the region...? I think the hubub around Israel is designed to evoke a false sense of urgency regarding Syria and Iran, I listened to NPR that supposed bastion of liberalism and all the guy from the Heritage foundation could do was equate Lebanon Terrorism, ...which is of course more conjecture from the people that brought you definite "WMD'S" in Iraq... don't believe the hype

Yeah, not really. Israel knows how to fight a war and they don't hold back. I don't think they will have a problem defeating any country in the middle east. Much of the western world might get mad at their tactics and strategy but they don't worry about it.

If we indeed get into WW3. A nuclear war will be devastating.
But you could say that for WW4 we will be using rocks as weapons.
