I know a lot of people who tell me it is very unwise because you are unexperienced and might not be able to please your partner, and you might end up with someone who isn't good in bed. And I'd be "missing out on all of the stuff that I could have experienced beforehand". Well, it doesn't change the way I think. I am curious to know how you feel

Sex is icing on the cake, the culmination of a good relationship. Any marriage based solely on sex is doomed to fail.

I think it's great for someone to wait until marriage. They not only pick out their spouse more wisely but they offer a gift to that person of cleanliness. EXPERIENCED people already know what to expect from the other and it can get old pretty fast. But if you have the privilege of learning with your spouse then it may take a while to get to that point and since you learn together you may never get to the point of boardom (spell check didn't help much ;) ). You would have such a level of respect for eachother that your way of thinking would be above the typical thinking of the EXPERIENCED PERSON. (Like "Phil S")
It's good to stand alone and not be like everyone else. You make a good difference and show much self respect. You also eliminate disease and unplanned pregnancy.

You are not stupid for declaring abstinence. I think the person who pressures you to have sex is the stupid fool. If you have personal reasons to refrain from having sex, then it's logical to wait. Having sex should be shared between two people when they are BOTH READY to take the next step. However if you have personal, moral issues with the topic of sex, then it's best to do your research spiritually, and realistically as to why you are pro and con sex. Either decision is not a stupid decision. Don't allow others to pressure you because that's a serious issue to face as an individual, one that you don't want to be regretting either. I give you all my respect which ever you decide. It takes a bigger person to stand true to their position on any decision/topic in life! :)

No, but I do think it's stupid to expect everybody to make the same decision about sex. If you want to wait until marriage, that's awesome. If you don't, that's awesome too. It's a very personal choice either way.

I think you should wait. Once you are married if you find a man that you really love and he loves you back you will do your best to please each other in and out of the bedroom. Love is a very powerful thing.
Sex before marriege increases the liklihood that you will build expectations that may be unrealistic later on.

Yes, I think it's crazy to wait. It's a natural process. Would you buy a wedding dress of the rack and not wear it until the wedding day in the hope that it fitted you perfectly and looked great on you without even trying it on? Of course not. Same concept here.

I think it's great if you can wait until marriage to have sex. Your partner will feel so special that you waited to be with him/her. Plus, about the whole inexperienced thing - what could be better than learning with/from your partner and learning how to please them the way they like it?

If you save sex for marriage, you will have absolutely no idea if your partner is bad at sex. It's simple. You have no one else to compare their lovemaking to. For that reason alone don't have sex until you're married because you won't be disappointed.

I only think it's stupid to do something just because someone else tells you to or alternatively not to. One should do what is right for themselves and those directly affected by their decisions.

no it is not stupid. it is very smart!!! you respect yourself and i admire you for that. there are so many girls out there who have sex because they think that is what they are supposed to do.if a guy just wants to have sex with you then he doesn't respect you.save yourself the trouble of dealing with a jerk and u will find the right guy
