Press ctrl-alt-delete and go to processes, that is if you computer is either using alot of memory or cpu percentage, then go through deleting anyprocesses that are run by Adminastrator that you didnt open or have no idea about, that should give you computer some more power. Of course, that might not be your problem :P

if there's no scratches on the cd's it most likely that ur cd-rom is not not working well... i had that problem and i have to change my cd-rom to a new one... avoid scratched cds on new cd-roms cuz it damages the rom
