No one can accurately answer without seeing it.

It is not having a baby however. Turtles don't have babies, they lay eggs.

If the sac doesn't go back in, take it to a vet. It could be a prolapsed intestine or the turtles penis. Both things are not normal & require IMMEDIATE medical attention.

You've got a boy! It's flashing you its lil' willy. Turtles store their penis inside their tails, that is why the male turtle will have a thicker tail than females. BTW, it's not a butt, but called a cloaca (vent).

If the turtle is stressed (picked up) or sometimes for no reason at all, the penis will come out. If the turtle retracts it, it's not a problem and quite normal.

However, sometimes if the penis does not retract and stays out, it is a problem and you will need to seek a reptile vet for assistance. Sometimes, it the intestines are leaking out as well, and this too is a serious problem. Both cases, where it is not retracting, you need to seek a reptile vet to help. This is called prolapse (penile or intestinal). Here is a link for an article for prolapse with pictures:

Here is a list of reptile vets by state:

BTW, if you have more than one turtle, you must remove the prolapsed turtle and keep it seperate. If the prolapsed turtle scratches it or gets it bitten, it is lights out for the poor fellow.

Good luck.

A baby LOL now how can you people be answering these questions when you dont know what your talking about. Turtles lay eggs they dont have babies. It is most likely is the male sex organ. You need to take it to a vet to have him checked out because it is not normal for this to happen. If it comes out then goes back in its ok but not if it is staying out

I have a red eared slider. You are all wrong. Its not even a female, its a male. And that coming out of him is his.... male parts, if you know what I mean. It is perfectly normal, and you do not need vet care.
