It depends on the child's age. If it is an infant,try giving it some apple juice (baby or children's) If the child is 3 months or younger you will need to dilute it with some water. If the child is 4 months to a year you can give it straight apple juice(children's) along with apple sauce or prunes. If this child is 1 years old and up, give it prune juice-slightly warmed. Try increasing the child's fiber intake-oatmeal, fruit, veggies(cooked or un-cooked). Most kids love salad, it's all in the presentation. I will suggest that you discuss this situation with the parent. Perhaps they are not aware that the child is constipated.

First...you have to make sure the parents know. Call and ask them if you can give the child an ounce or two of prune juice. That should help. But do not give it to the child without the parents permission.

give the kid more fiber to eat like fruits and veggies, and or grains like oatmeal ect. also give the kid lots of water.
