He's is just excited that there is a female or he is wanting her to not be around. Has he made a bubble nest? if there are bubbles, then he wants to mate. otherwise, he's probably just establishing territoy.
bettatalk with help with this.

He'll calm down in time. He has been king of the tank for a while. The other fish is intruding into his tank!!! Bettas are territorial by sight, but they will get use to seeing each other over time. You should have something in the tank so both fish can hide from each other. Be aware if he isn't trying to build a bubblenest at this point he'll most likely try and kill her rather than mate with her. Some bettas are just plain psycho. (Mostly crowntails for some reason.)
If he keeps this up for more than 3-4 hours. You should remove him into a jar fill with his tank water for a week. Then put him in a zip lock bag with some of his jar's water. Seal it with a fair bit air, and float it back in his tank. Then release him. This should make him forget it's his tank.
Note that unless this is a big tank you'll need to keep them separate. Mating is pretty rough on both fish. The male betta generally won't put up with her any where near the nest. Then there are the 50-100 babies mating will produce.

Sounds like he wants to mate with your female. I wouldn't recommend putting them together unless you know how to breed them. I've owned several betta fish, (I love them) both male and female. My suggestion is to put them in separate bowls next to each other. Beware, if one dies, I've noticed that the remaining gets lonely. Good luck!

Do you attempt your water? once you're saying lady contained in the puppy save, you mean an human being operating in retail? Do you imagine this human being operating in a retail save even graduated severe college? What makes you imagine she knows something about fish?

He probably doesn't realize the divider is there and so he is p!ssed off like any beta is when another is added.

you can put male and female bettas together, they will be fine, it is only the male bettas that will fight one another
if the male and females fought, bettas would be extinct
