WHY oh why is the "insert" key right next to the "delete" key?

I mean for f*ck's sake, who thought it would be a good idea to put it there? Does anyone even USE this key, or does it solely exist to piss people off when they press it accidentally?

There are other annoying keys to hit, such as CAPS LOCK, but at least those have a useful purpose!

And while I'm on the subject, the keyboard I was using today had the off-switch next to the "delete" key as well. That f*cking inspired peice of design actually led to the incident which caused this outburst, but luckily it's not common to all keyboards.

If you get a knife you can prise some of the keys off and move them around.. You could take the delete key of say and swap it with tab for example..

I know exactly what you mean. After the first1,000 times I accidentally did this, I figured out that when text starts going in 'funny,' I needed to hit the Insert key. Hopefully someday someone will get the message and move this key somewhere else.

it's got to be somewhere,
my insert key is next to the F keys and the delete key is above the arrow keys. Try a new keyboard.

Yes very annoying - The other one that gets me is +C & +V - You've just highligted a whole shedload of stuff you want to copy, and the you wipe it all out by accidentally catching the 'V' instead of the 'C'. Grrrr.....
