because in case you take advantage of a replay one time you should apply it in each and each and every of the arguable calls....which contained in the destiny slows down the game dramatically and leads to a sport like american football. it shouldn't were replayed on the large exhibit screen till the perfect call became made. now no one will ever understand if the guidelines were quite followed or no longer. the ref did make the right determination, yet when it became by technique of the most ideal potential we can under no circumstances understand. fifa doesn't pick to modify the game of football, they purely have the want to make it secure, consistant, and straightforward for all gamers and coaches. if fifa had to apply a video replay for each call football may be SO boring. thats what's giant about this sport, the freedom in it. and if a video replay became used on each and every call the game doesn't be free and it might get replaced as an entire...and no one needs that to ensue.

Did you watch the game? I don't think so. If you watched the game you would know. But to answer a stupid question NO the ref did not use the video reply. NO there should not be a rematch. I'm sure an anti-Italian scumbag French supporter was hoping for a different answer. You lost get over it.

my friend.......it is over.........the game ended with a result and that was with Italy winning the cup......people really need to get over this......insults are being thrown all over the place and what you should realize is both parties share the blame for what happened....no.....the ref did not see the play nor did he get a video replay........he consulted his linesmen who did see the play without any aid of replay because that's what a linesmen is supposed to do........he is the eyes behind the play and please....Zidane made it so obvious by actually stopping, turning around and ran towards his victim.........in conclusion......Materazzi is no saint but neither is Zidane.......look up Zidane's history and you will see he has done this before in big time games........twice in 2000 while playing with Juventus in Champions League games.........one must be humble in defeat and not resort to distorted and misinformed info...........Fifa will discipline both players after hearing from both of them and that is it.........that display by Zidane on national tv. was disgraceful.....he has lost all credibility........it's a shame.......he was a great entertaining player........who disappointed me also since I'm a supporter of Juventus.....he disappointed me back in 2000 by his actions which I may add were for similiar reasons as what transpired in the world cup final..........racism exists and it is very unfortunate.......but please.......there's just as much racism in France as there is anywhere else........if you've watched the news at all these past years you will know this as a fact......so please everyone.........let it go and just say to yourself how can you make a difference?.......Congrats to Italy!!!!!!!!

Actually if the referee or linesmen don't see what happens...you can't use a replay to make your decision. It's against the FIFA rules. Unfortunately for Zidane...the linesman saw.

Fifa stated that the fourth official saw the actual headbutt and did not use the replay.

It is actually against the FIFA rules to use the replay in making a decision.

youre not allowed to use replays to make decisions. if a ref didnt see it, it doesnt count. but apparently the linesman saw it. im not sure if he really did or not, he may have been influenced, but the right call was made in the end and thats all that i think matters.

They can't use replays, but Zidane shouldn't have head-butted his opponent. That was a very costly head-butt cuz it might have been the game for France. Hope it was worth it.

can't have a rematch, whether he seen a replay or not (which i don't think he did). that's part of being a human, making quick judgement calls and then having to others affected by them. but, i'm not complaining-just a fact of life.
